An excellent broch. A massive structure, with tremendous piles of debris lying around and within the broch wall.
Many lintelled passageways can be seen from above and some can be entered.
[2] reports the entrance to be on the west side of the broch, although all that is visible is an odd shaped hole there. Indeed [2] considers that what is visible above the rubble is the second or third floor of the broch!
Positioned on the promontory, the broch would be hard to attack, protected by high cliffs on all sides with a narrow walkway on to the land. Many structures are visible scattered around the broch with clear courses of stonework in places.
