This site should not be confused with Houlland at 594103, which [3] also calls Baliasta.
[3] also lists this site and says it is not a broch site.
The local crofter, John Jamieson was aware of the possibility of a broch being here and indicated a site a bit further up the hill than the listed co-ordinates from [4]. He also pointed out that according to local knowledge there was a broch at Petester (595125)
Further, there is a modern house lying to the south-west of this site called 'Wester Brough'
From the site it is not quite possible to see to the Loch of Cliff, although it would probably be visible from a few metres up. Certainly the Houlland broch site is clearly in view.
